Community Engagements
What is CARE?
The CARE Program at RCCG Living Spring State College is designed to assist individuals who may need help obtaining available information for community based programs within the Centre region. A directory is compiled of listings for supplemental light, heat, rental or mortgage assistance, temporary housing, food, counseling, reduced prescriptions, medical care plus governmental websites which provide state resources.
Other CARE programs are Home and Hospital Visitations at request, Emergency Response Team, Prayer Request Partners, CPR and First Aid Classes, CARE Tree (during Christmas), Helping Hands Ministry and Baby Blessings.
Living Spring Connect
The Living Spring Connect provides support services to homeless and near-homeless persons and families in State College . In addition to providing temporary housing, LSC’s 3 locations offer comprehensive case management, counseling and crisis intervention, resources and referrals, education, and support groups in an effort to break the cycle of poverty by addressing its root causes. LSC serves over 400 individuals annually.
The Living Spring Connect ’s After School Program serves between 40-60 youth ,by providing temporary accommodation in the State College community. The program provides academic assistance, youth development, supplementary activities, and social work services. Services and activities include mentorship, tutoring, internet access, informational workshops and active discussions, college and high school preparation, STEM activities, Literacy Intervention and English Language Lab.
